Digital Media Federation has also formed a regulating body (DMNSA) to regulate the News Content published on digital media platforms associated with it.
 
Digital Media News Standard Authority is a self-regulatory body under the digital media rules 2021. DMNSA shall perform functions laid down in sub-rules (4) and (5) of rule 12 for the purpose of redressing grievances related to the Code of Ethics under the Rules. Accordingly, we shall ensure that the member publishers agree to adhere to the provisions of the Rules, Including furnishing the requisite information 4 under rule 18 of the Rules.

The composition of self-regulating body (DMNSA) with members profile details shall be as under:-

J.B Sharma

Senior journalist/ eminent person from the field of media – Chairperson

Mr. Sharma was born (on 19/12/1957) and brought up in Delhi. He is a DU alumnus and has a bachelor’s degree in Arts. He also obtained a diploma from ITI in P&D from Delhi. He tried his hands at entrepreneurship in the past in the same field but somehow he moved to the field of journalism in 1996. The greatest motivation behind being a journalist is to make people aware of how the system works around them.
 
During these past 26 years of journalism, he got the chance to work with different Hindi dailies like Mahamedha, Shah Times, and Vir Arjun. He also worked with Virat Vaibhav as a bureau head of District Faridabad. Some of his stories were also published in TOI’s Supplement ‘ Faridabad Plus’ also.
 
He also got a chance to work with the renowned prime time programs India’s most wanted and Ankhon Dekhi. He also tried to establish his own bilingual weekly – LOK PUKAR in the year of 2010.  He also worked for JK channel as bureau head of Faridabad from 2017 to 2020.
Reading is his passion to cater authentic information in society through his transparent journalism and he also has a mini library at home. He is also passionate about writing and singing and pursues these as hobbies. He has also written a few patriotic songs. He is well-versed in Hindi and English and likes to explore Urdu and Punjabi languages.
 
So, with a large amount of his journalism experience of 26 years, the federation finds him very much suitable for the post of Chairperson of the Digital Media News Standard Authority (DMNSA).

Anita Rani

Advocate, Hapur (U.P) - Member

Ms. Anita Rani is a distinguished personality having roots in Hapur town in the State of Uttar Pradesh. She graduated from CCS University, Meerut, and also completed her LL.B. from CCS University.  She got enrolled in the Bar Council of Delhi in 2013 and has been a practicing lawyer since 2013 in Karkardooma district Court (Delhi). She has extensive experience and a good understanding of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, and government Regulations. She is a strong team player with an excellent ability to communicate complex sensitive information.
 
Her area of expertise is in Legal Research, Criminal Laws, Civil Laws, Domestic Violence Act, POCSO Act, Matrimonial Laws, Family Court Law, etc.

Prabhanjan Jha

Advocate Delhi High Court – Member

Mr. Prabhanjan Jha is basically from Jharkhand born on 1/3/1982 and currently settled in Delhi. Mr. Prabhanjan Jha is an alumni of the Faculty of  Law, the University of  Delhi having Bachelor’s and  Master’s  Degrees viz.,  BCA,  LLB, and LLM.  
 
He is a Practicing Lawyer in Delhi High Court and District Courts, CAT & other Tribunals. Having specialization in Criminal Laws, Civil Laws, and Matrimonial Laws. He has also imparted consultation for  Child  Rights and  Human Rights under the purview of the POCSO  Act,  Domestic  Violence  Act, Juvenile  Justice  Act, etc.  He has been performing his responsibilities in various courts.  He is popular among litigants for his legal knowledge and is committed to the welfare and betterment general public and his clients.
 
  As he has sound knowledge in terms of his legal experience so his place also fits in the SRB to follow the mechanism set by MIB.

Sher singh

Social Worker/Child Activist/Social Cultural activist – Member

Mr. Sher Singh was born (on 26 August 1970) and brought up in Delhi. He completed his B-com (Hons.) from Deshbandhu College, Delhi University. He is the president and founder of the Vishwa Guru Foundation, an organization working in the field of social service.  As he initially found himself as a nature lover so he started his social service work with the pledge to save the environment.
 
He associated himself with SEVA BHARATI, an NGO, and initiated a plantation in the vicinity of his residential area on large scale for a clean environment.  He also organizes health checkup camps, eye donation camps eye camps, blood donation camps, etc. in his area and provides free service.  He was also associated with Jal Sanrakshan Abhiyan to Save Water campaign in Delhi.
 
 To encourage compulsory education for children, he worked with Saksham Sanstha. He organized many seminars on education and ground-level Drawing competitions in his society.  He is a full-time social worker and has been in the field of social service for the past 20 years working for the low strata of society. He has been continuously working for orphan children providing them assistance in education and shelter in Delhi.

Het Ram Verma,

Officer Retired as AGM (finance) From BEML Limited – Member

Mr. Het Ram Verma is basically from Haryana born on 3/5/1946. Het ram Verma holds an MBA degree in Finance, SAS Revenue Audit also Post Graduated in HR Marketing.   He joined BEML in 1994 after cracking the subordinate account services exam conducted by CAG.  
He Retired as Assistant General Manager (Finance) from BEML LTD under the Ministry of Defence.

He also worked as Accountant General in HAL, NBCC, CCI, and BHEL. He also served as Assistant Registrar in IGNOU. (After Retirement)

Work Experience: – Retired AGM (Finance) from BEML Ltd under the Ministry of Defence, working in HAL, NBCC, CCI, BHEL, Accountant General A&E Haryana, IGNOU, Ramaiya Institute of Management.

DMNSA Ensures to perform the functions laid down in the rules set by ministry information and broadcasting for the purpose of addressing grievances related to the code of ethics. We maintain a proactive approach to weed out wrong and misleading content from the news item to be published on our media platforms. Digital Media News Standard Authority has been formed to regulate and comply with the instructions given by MIB. We request you register DMNSA as the Level second Self-Regulatory Body for publishers of news and current affairs content as per rule 12 of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
